Who are we ?

Very Vintage was born from a simple passion: to bring yesterday's watches back to life so that they continue to grace the wrists of today.

My name is Alexandre Camarty , founder of Very Vintage.

I have always been passionate about watchmaking. A collector, a compulsively curious person, a hunter of forgotten gems, but I only started professionally in 2024 , after years of buying, collecting and reselling watches for pleasure.

By sharing this passion, advising friends, and restoring forgotten pieces, I ended up doing what many dream of doing: turning my passion into a profession .

Very Vintage rests on three pillars:

1. Honesty above all

I only select pieces that I would like to wear myself .
You will therefore find very few “hype” or overpriced models: no frenzy on Rolex or Audemars Piguet, little fashion effect, no speculation.

Just watches that have a soul, a story, and that make you want to wear them.

2. Vintage must remain accessible

What also prompted me to create Very Vintage was a frustration: seeing the vintage market become overpriced, with sellers displaying prohibitive prices for pieces that many would like to afford… but can no longer.

I wanted to go in the opposite direction:

Certina, the turning point ❤️

If there is one brand that made me fall headfirst into the world of vintage, it is Certina .

Their iconic DS (1959-1968) and DS-2 (1968-1976) models opened my eyes: incredibly reliable watches, perfectly constructed, accessible, easy to maintain and with a timeless style.

I still consider a Certina DS to be one of the best entry points into vintage watchmaking: little risk, lots of pleasure, a real identity.

You'll often see Certina watches at Very Vintage. I select them, we restore them, and we showcase them. Because they deserve to be worn rather than forgotten in a drawer.

But the Very Vintage spirit doesn't stop there. What I love most are well-known brands, but less flashy than Rolex, Cartier, or Audemars Piguet.

More discreet, sometimes underestimated, but incredibly interesting brands: Eterna, Enicar, Tissot, Concord, Credor, Nivada, Vulcain, Yema , and many others.

Sincere watches, brilliantly designed, often rarer, sometimes even better finished… and always with a real personality.

These are the kinds of pieces that I enjoy finding and showcasing at Very Vintage.

Vintage Quartz takes center stage

Like many enthusiasts, I long ignored quartz watches.

I barely looked at them, convinced – like so many others – that a watch had to be mechanical to have a soul. Then I discovered the world of what I call early quartz , the one from the 70s and 80s.

These early generations of quartz watches had nothing to do with today's "cheap" image: ultra-thin designs, bold innovations, precise movements, futuristic lines, total creativity.

This was a period when quartz represented the pinnacle of watchmaking innovation , not its simplification.

Today, I am proud to offer a selection dedicated to these forgotten pieces:

Unique watches, elegant, reliable, often underestimated — yet essential to understanding the history of modern watchmaking.
